Black Rock Life Saving Club was founded in 1928. Together with other Victorian clubs and Life Saving Victoria,
it serves as a core member of the State’s emergency services. As such our primary function is to provide beach and aquatic safety.
As a community based organisation our club is run entirely by volunteers who take pride in providing a
professional community service and help train others in the principles of beach & water safety, health & fitness, first aid, search and rescue & resuscitation. During the summer season of November to March the Club provides Patrols to protect users of Black Rock beach on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with additional patrols on most public holidays.
The Club offers a rewarding opportunity for members to gain skills, keep fit and have fun while fulfilling its primary function. This is effectively achieved via training using a diverse range of activities and a wide range of opportunities for socializing and development of lifelong friendships. The Club provides facilities and an extensive equipment base for the use of members, including qualified coaches, inflatable rescue boats, foam fiberglass & malibu boards, surf skis, gym equipment, hot showers and change rooms, barbecue and catering equipment, overhead projector & stereo system, resuscitation & first aid equipment, training aids, and a venue for members to hold social functions.
Membership: Junior (Nippers) 5-14 years | Seniors (15 and over includes Masters 30+).
All Senior members become part of our much valued Patrol teams.
